The idea of Hamilton Chinese Alliance Church was conceived. The birth of the idea was during a C&MA meeting at the Delta Tabernacle with Eastern District Superintendent and a few Chinese Christians.
About 20 days later Rev. Daniel Ng in Detroit, Michigan received a call from Augustus Chao, Chair of CCACA. Rev. Ng was invited to pioneer a church plan in Hamilton. After prayerful consideration Rev. Ng and Mrs. Ng. moved to Hamilton.
The first worship service was January 12, 1975 at the Delta Tabernacle. By the year’s end attendance grew to 130.
HCAC was initially supported by Regina Chinese Alliance Church and the C&MA District office.
October 3, 1976
A formal registration was made for the church with 49 chartered members.
1978
HCAC became financially independent and soon after a building committee was formed to help look for new facilities. November 1978 Delta Tabernacle related the need for us to look to new locations
Eventually it became apparent for English Service to be separate and initially an intern from the church was used then later returned to seminary.
1997
Pastor Bayne Leong was employed as the new English Pastor.
Over the past years more than 1033 came to accept Christ and 623 believers were baptized. 23 member went on for theological training.
HCAC has went through changes.
2006
Rev. Ng retired as our Senior Pastor and Rev. George Siu was hired coming from BC.
2007
Pastor Bayne Leong had indicated a change in direction in his involvement at HCAC.
Jan 2009
Pastor Frank Chiang had joined HCAC to be our Mandarin Pastor.
Aug 2009
Pastor Stephen Halden has joined HCAC as our English Pastor.
During the transition over the years, HCAC has been thankful to be blessed with long standing members who have served as lay pastoral staff such Gloria Ng, Francis and Irene Pang, and Allan Chan.
As HCAC looks to the future, and see the demographic is changing.
Ministry is not about retirement but it is about family.
We need to encourage a new tomorrow to happen.
God is not finished with His Work in Hamilton and we would like to invite people to share the passion to make the difference for tomorrow.
